In the last two years (2022-2023), high-profile events have been abandoned by these big music maestros in the most popular country in Africa, Nigeria. According to complaints from different show promoters, there have been 4 Nigerian musicians who have abandoned events they were to headline.

Wizkid

In December 2022, Wizkid was billed to feature at an event that was to be held at the Accra National Stadium, unfortunately, the Nigerian music sensation did not attend. However, he made a tweet and apologized for his inability to be there.

Though he apologized, Ghanaians went on to bare their minds. Criticizing him on social media.

Burna boy

For the first time, a report was heard that the African giant, Burna Boy, could not make it to an event he was to feature in the Netherlands.

However, Burna apologized through his official Instagram handle to his fans. He also rescheduled the event and offered a free bus ride to and fro the venue.

Davido

2023 was a year Davido will not forget in a hurry. However, an event he was billed to feature in became a social media frenzy. This is because, the former Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Marvin Pinnick, who doubled as a show promoted accused Davido of abandoning the event after being paid. Mr. Pinnick also threatened to sue the star of N2.3B if he refused to refund the $100k that was paid to him.

Kizz Daniel

This was a rather funny event as there were accusations and denials. The Uganda show promoter got Kizz Daniel arrested for not honouring the event because of jewelry. Meanwhile, Kizz Daniel denied the accusation, saying that his clothes were not delivered on time by the airline whose job it was to deliver them.
