Why Burna and Davido lost the Grammy

Grammy organizers should do more after the favoritism acts displayed

Hullabaloo around the Grammy Awards will not be going down anytime soon. 

This is because of the losses that Nigerian musicians encountered during the award ceremony. Davido, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr all gave their best in the year in review (2023).

To the fans of these artists, it is a hard pill to swallow especially, if you take into consideration the efforts, both human and financial resources these musicians did put into their crafts.

In the different award categories; Burna Boy was defeated in the Best African Music Category by Tyla with the song Water.

On the other hand, Davido lost all three nominations to the different artists he competed with.

However, from what we observed it seems like the American society does not understand that the African society is a highly cultured one. For instance, almost all the songs that won last night were pushing a s*x narrative.

It seems like they want the African artists to redirect their energy toward singing a s*x-filled song. In our opinion, African artists should stick to their culture. Also, It is time to focus on taking our awards to a global stage.
